“The self glorification seen in many spiritual/religious teachers perpetuates maya, which is illusion or more simply ‘that which is not.’ When one becomes focused on status, is competitive and sees oneself as ‘above’ others one is veiled by illusion. When one is focused on how special & different one is, one becomes even more veiled by maya. People should come back to the understanding of self & the mindset that we are all manifestations of the same source. To eliminate Maya, one must stop looking for external validation, achievement and fulfillment. One must turn inward to rediscover oneself and the divine connection to all that was, is and will be. There is no end or beginning, when you realize this you’ll begin feeling your soul vibrate as it does a cosmic dance in an ever-changing physical realm.I often call upon Kali to assist me in eliminating worldly maya and to help me see what is being veiled. The way I think about it is like this: If our eyes were constantly staring into the night sky, it would hurt our eyes if one day, the sun were to rise. When the sun shines the world is illuminated. Change isn’t always easy. Some realizations about ourselves & our lives are painful, some changes hurt us emotionally. Eliminating illusion often means the destruction of the things that have fed or protected the ego with material items or in emotional ways. After losing what we thought made us feel safe or happy, true stability, happiness & strength will be found. Jai Kali Maa!!!” -Kelly @Dark Moon TarotArt source: http://www.dollsofindia.com/dollsofindiaimages/goddess-pictures/goddess-kali-AD80_l.jpg
